The festival is the result of the “Cracks: Women in the Performing Arts” project, developed by the Grotowski Institute since 2021. Perform[ing] Poland features 18 Polish artists of the young and middle generation, all hailing from theater, transforming the tools of acting, dance, and vocals into hybrid forms of performance.

The project involves presenting nearly 30 individual events (performances, plays, performative installations, meetings) in five cities (Gdańsk, Katowice, Krakow, Lublin, Warsaw) across 10 institutions.

To date, Perform[ing] Poland has been presented in Budapest during the Theatre Olympics and in Katowice at the A Part International Performing Arts Festival in Katowice.
